Valentine's Box - I love the fact that...

I'm not one to make any projects for Valentine's Day, so when someone asked me to make a box to hold cards which say "I love the fact that..." so that they could finish the statement on multiple cards I thought - okaaaaay I think I can do that.

I was told how the box should be made so that it opens easily (yes, really LOL). I made a prototype and didn't like what I saw, so decided to create my own (but kept it so that it would be easy to open). I really do NOT like red (the traditional Valentine colour) so I steered clear of that but tried to incorporate the "season of love" anyway. I think I achieved that, as well as it being ok to be given as a gift to a man on Valentine's Day - with the perfect paper collection by Graphic 45 "Le Romantique" - what do you think? You can watch the time-lapse video on how I made it on YouTube here.

Well, that's my one and only Valentine's Day project - next up is Easter! Yay for Easter!!! So much more fun don't you think?

hehehe

  2. Wow, great box! Is there a reason you switched back and forth from the Scotch glue to the Tachy glue or did you just choose the glue by whatever was closest to your hand? I thought using the glue stick along with the scor tape was another great idea for me to do! Thanks for sharing this video with us!

    1. Hi Jackie
There is absolutely no reason I use one or the other of the Scotch and Tacky glues. Usually I use the tacky when adhering chipboard to chipboard but it all depends on what's handy when I reach for the glue LOL. I ALWAYS try to use Scor-tape around the perimeter of chipboard when matting with paper, I just do not want the paper to lift up - I just think that looks unfinished and awful! A glue stick is your friend when matting papers, I find - but ONLY inside the Scor-tape perimeter.
Hope this answers your questions :)
